A beach pad for our couple who loves all things clean, calm and uncomplicated. When they enlisted our help to renovate their beachside home, their brief was clear: keep it beautiful, functional and effortlessly easy to live with. We reimagined the kitchen and key interior spaces with low-maintenance materials and finishes, all without compromising on considered design.
The Approach
Our clients’ minimalist aesthetic guided our design choices. While they gravitated toward cool grey tones, we gently nudged them toward warmer, lighter, costal-inspired hues that better suited their beachside location. We worked holistically across the home, rethinking spatial flow and functionality at every turn.The overarching goal was to strip back the fuss and create a home that felt easy to live in, with every design decision calibrated for comfort and everyday use.
The Details
The powder room became a showstopper. We selected a warm dark grey limestone for the floor and wall tiles and anchored the space with a round freestanding basin, a sculptural centre piece that elevates the bathroom guests use most.
The existing kitchen felt confined and disconnected, so we striped it back to create something lighter and more cohesive. Floor to ceiling oak joinery replaced existing overhead cupboards and crisp white gloss splash back tiles brightened the space. By extending the kitchen bench, we brought the pantry–tucked under the stairs–into the conversation with the rest of the kitchen, creating a unified zone that flows seamlessly.
We redesigned both bathrooms upstairs with daily use in mind. The main bathroom swapped its bath for a sleek and spacious shower, featuring a combination of limestones and Carrara marble, creating a soft and elegant palette.In the master ensuite, we changed the floor tiles to the same stone as the powder room but carried the other materials through fora cohesive aesthetic.
The result is calm, cool and quietly sophisticated–a thoughtful balance of minimalism, warmth and ease.
